Vaasa is the largest energy technology city in the Nordic countries, and this training prepares you for various assembly and installation tasks in the energy industry. In this field, manual skills are more important than mathematical skills. The training starts from the basics, taking your starting level into account; you do not need a mathematical or technical background. The most important thing is that you have an interest in learning new skills.
DESCRIPTION
Do you want to work in a field that is significant for climate and the environment? The energy industry is growing rapidly, and skilled workers are needed. In this training, you will gain the skills to perform installation and assembly work that supports sustainable development and helps us transition to renewable energy. As an assembly specialist in the new green industry rising in Finland and Europe, you will play an important role in developing a sustainable future.
Teaching and teaching materials for the training are in English and partially in Finnish. Some of the instruction can be conducted in Finnish to help develop your professional language skills. Additionally, the training includes the opportunity to complete courses on electrical safety, occupational safety, hot work, and emergency first aid if needed.

IMPLEMENTATION
The training is implemented as blended learning, which includes practical exercises, project work, and remote assignments. The training primarily consists of in-person classes three or three or four days a week from 08:00 to 15:15, as well as one or two remote days per week. On remote days and during school holidays, the training is carried out through remote assignments.
The training includes a work-based learning period, which provides you opportunity to create contacts with companies. The work-based learning period gives you a great chance to demonstrate your skills directly to employers, improving your chances of employment. The length and content of the work-based learning period are planned in collaboration with the student and the company. You will receive support for finding a work-based learning placement, but the student is primarily responsible for applying for companies. The duration of the training can be shortened if the work-based learning period is not included in your personal study plan.
The training takes place at the Sampo campus (Sepänkyläntie 16, 65100 Vaasa). At the Sampo campus, students learn in modern facilities using the same equipment and tools that are also used in working life.
