Starting in January 2024, is launching a new specialist vocational qualification program in the hotel and catering sector. This educational opportunity is Vamia designed specifically for managers and leaders currently working in the Finnish hotel and catering industry in English. The qualification program is designed to enhance leadership skills and improve the effectiveness of individuals within their areas of responsibility or companies, ultimately helping them achieve strategic objectives.
Sami Syväoja, the Education Manager for Tourism Services, is enthusiastic about the opportunities that this new education initiative presents:
- Many chefs and waitstaff who have previously completed the international vocational qualification in restaurant and catering services now work in local restaurants and various roles within the tourism service industry. Some of these employees have already transitioned into supervisory positions, and the demand for such roles is expected to grow in the future. Therefore, this is the perfect time to strengthen our collaboration with the industry and provide training to equip employees for the increasing need for supervisory positions.
