PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Alliance for Batteries Technology, Training and Skills (ALBATTS) is a European project concerning skills and competences, in the emerging Batteries for Electro-mobility ecosystem. The project goal is to support Europe to become a competitive player in the battery ecosystem, by providing European industry with high-skilled workforce and expertise. The purpose is to cover the whole life cycle of the battery value chain, from raw materials processing, cell components and manufacturing, to battery and battery pack manufacturing, recycling or second use, both in mobile and stationary battery applications.
The project consortium will define new EU sectoral strategy for the battery sector by:
- Mapping the current and future stakeholders’ technology
- Identifying new competences needed for the EQF level 4-7 (upper secondary vocational education and training, universities of applied sciences and universities)
- Designing a roadmap for the synchronisation of skills demand and supply, developing training programs and training packages as well as related digital teaching materials OER (=open education resources).
The ALBATTS project runs from 2019-2023 and the consortium involves 20 organisations from 11 European countries, from the industrial and educational sectors to regional entities.
VAMIA’S ROLE IN THE PROJECT: Together with the Portuguese VET provider ATEC, Vamia is responsible for the management of work package 6; Training and Education for the Battery Industry.
