PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The project aims to develop a vocational education unit that helps students understand key cultural values and work-life expectations, particularly for adult immigrants. Given that the Nordic countries share similar cultural values and face challenges in integrating immigrants into society and the workforce, the project will share best practices between partner institutions. It seeks to equip students with cultural skills to prevent and resolve conflicts arising from misunderstandings. The goal is to create a model to help VET teachers manage multicultural challenges and promote understanding through dialogue on human rights, intercultural interaction, and tolerance, rooted in Nordic values of freedom and responsibility.
The main aim is to create a study unit concentrating on cultural knowledge and conflict mediation where students can act as peer tutors and mediators at the school and their future workplaces. Each project participant is responsible for recruiting the teachers and staff to the project, collecting data and creating a summary of the main results and ensuring that the study unit fits into the curriculum.
