PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Cooperation in the fields of entrepreneurship education and business, as well as improving the job market opportunities for Vamia’s Swedish-speaking students in collaboration with Keuda’s Finnish-speaking students.
Vamia is a bilingual vocational institution where Swedish-speaking students are a minority. The aim of the project is to enhance the academic and job market readiness of Swedish-speaking students. The goal is to strengthen collaboration with Finnish-speaking students from another region in Finland. It has been observed that cooperation with students from a different region sometimes works better than with those nearby. This also provides new perspectives for both students and teachers. Keuda has proposed a language immersion partnership in entrepreneurship, as both institutions aim to improve students’ job prospects through better proficiency in the second national language. At the same time, this initiative promotes the Swedish language in Finland.
Within the project, students and teachers from Vamia and Keuda visit each other’s schools to work on entrepreneurship. The cooperation is also extended to Katedralskolan in Sweden for new perspectives on entrepreneurship education. Teachers from Vamia, Keuda and Katedralskolan will visit the Young Enterpreneurship Fair in Stockholm, one of the world’s largest fairs where schools, business and the public meet. We want to learn from this model and give our students the opportunity to participate in the future.
