Vamia has switched over to distance learning during 17.3. – 13.4.2020 because of the coronavirus. The school is closed and distance learning are carried out according to the timetables. Beauty salon Parcos and restaurant Silveria are also closed. Electricity and plumbing works at clients’ sites can be completed with an approval from the head of education division. Labour policy education is also carried out as distance learning according to the ELY Centre’s policy. Short-term training (for example hygiene passport, occupational safety card) are moved to a later.
Teachers and students are recommended to use MS Teams and Skype for communication, for example in weekly Skype-meetings.
Students in working life training are to follow the employer’s instructions concerning the coronavirus. If the working life training is called off, the student must contact their teacher for further instructions. A Transcript of study record can be requested from the study secretaries by email in each division. The school social workers can be contacted via e-mail and phone. While the school is closed, the lunch restaurants (Appetito and Melinda) are also closed and there is no school dining available.
In some cases studies may have to be carried over to June, but in such an event the students will be informed at a later date.
